I have always been keen on camping and four-wheel driving,
however only dabbled in it in the early years with the odd trip with friends to
Fraser or to the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Competing in a few off-road
gymkhanas was where I learnt a lot about what I didn’t know about 4WDing however,
as time went by I learned a lot and now have a solid knowledge of the ins and
outs of this great past time.
In 2015, after much discussion and research the decision was
made to buy what was not my first 4x4, but was the first one I planned to do
some serious traveling in. I purchased a 2015 RG Colorado at end of year sale time
(got a great bargain). Then headed straight to TJM Mackay where "All the
Fruit" was fitted so it was ready to attack anything thrown at it.
After a couple of trips that year (check out our YouTube channel they are all
on there), a chance conversation with a client's husband in 2016 had us
planning a trip to Central Australia and the Simpson Desert and the rest is
history. Each year after that every holiday was spent checking out North
Queensland, the NT and the Cape.
This was the birth of Low Range 4x4 Adventures, the decision
was made to document all the adventures so that family and friends old and new
could follow the journey. It has been a steep learning curve working out how to
turn memories that were never planned to be YouTube videos into something that
people could watch and enjoy.
Amazing footage and great
editing, together with new educational gear spotlights, vehicle recovery and tips
and tricks, has created something we can be proud of to share to inspire others on their own adventures.
It is amazing the things you end up doing when you put
yourself out there and are willing to have a go. Please check out the social
media pages at the links below, follow and like to keep up with Low Range 4x4
Adventures.
